Cette élégante statue en bronze représente Pārvatī, déesse hindoue de la fertilité, de la force et de la beauté, dans une posture dansante pleine de dynamisme et de grâce sur un trône très spécial en forme stylisé de lotus. Les traits du visage sont d'une très grande finesse. Les cheveux, très soigneusement réalisés se terminent par une karanda makuta, une coiffure haute et enroulée typique des déesses tamoules.

Debout sur la jambe droite fléchie, elle adopte une pose complexe : la main droite est levée en abhaya mudrā, geste de protection et d’absence de peur, tandis que la main gauche soutient sa jambe gauche, repliée et croisée devant le corps dans un équilibre audacieux. Voici une danse divine appelée Lasya.

Cette posture exprime l’union du corps, de l’esprit et de l’énergie cosmique, avec une forte connotation de féminité divine en action. Elle incarne la Shakti, la puissance féminine, qui complète et équilibre l’énergie masculine de Śiva.

La finesse du modelé, les courbes souples du corps, et les ornements témoignent du savoir-faire des bronziers utilisant la technique traditionnelle de la cire perdue. Cette œuvre incarne la spiritualité vivante et l’esthétique raffinée des images cultuelles dédiées aux divinités shivaïtes.
