You are bidding on an old french 4/4 violin, labeled "N. Lupot Luthier de la Musique du Roi et de l'Ecole Royale de Musique Paris 1821". Condition: Some tears and wears to golden amber reddish varnish, no cracks Description: Good quality straight high grained spruce was chosen for the top. Two pieces back with of beautiful flamed maple. Matched sides, neck and scroll. The whole length of the violin is 588 mm and the back 358 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 169 mm; middle bouts: 113 mm; lower bouts: 207 mm. Full size. The sound is very powerful, deep, rich, suitable for soloist.
