Merovingian bronze belt buckle, 7.2 by 3.3 cm, inlaid with white and blue glass cabochons, featuring an articulating ring prong and a raised bezel on the front, with a panel and backing for the belt strap, catalogued as Merovingian with Visigothic possibilities, in good condition with some surface wear, accompanied by an authenticity certificate and a Spanish export license.
Description from the seller
A beautiful bronze alloy buckle, inlaid with glass. With an articulating ring prong, and a panel with a separate backing for the terminal tip of the belt strap to attach to via riveting holes pierced through the panels. A raised bezel is welded to the frontside. The circular piece has a bronze cross-shaped square at the with concentric circles on the center and with four cabochons of inlaid glass in white and blue hues. The craftsmanship is exquisite, and well preserved.
The piece is catalogued as Merovingian ( Migration Period ) but due its typology it can also be Visigothic.
Dimensions: 7,20 x 3,30 cm.
Condition: Some surface wear. Good overall condition.
Provenance: Collection Paul Bressand (1898-1995) between 1930 and 1960.
Important: Due to Summer holidays, Items sold at the end of July or August will be sent in September.

be requested by us, This process can take beteen 1 and 2 months.
