 Le Marchand d'oiseaux, le troisième roman de Robert Brasillach, parut en 1936. On y retrouve ses thèmes de prédilection : jeunesse, Paris du début des années 30, petites gens de la capitale, personnages étranges, tel ce marchand d'oiseaux, mystérieux représentant du Destin.

Possédant le charme caractéristique du Brasillach romancier, Le Marchand d'oiseaux ne cède ni au réalisme social ni au populisme. C'est une synthèse d'influences : les films de René Clair, les pièces de Jean Giraudoux, la notion de grâce dérivée de conversations avec son ami Roger Vailland, le maurrassisme, le proudhonisme et, bien sûr, le réalisme du jeune journaliste.

Exemplaire assez bien conservé: dos un peu passé, avec des frottements d'usure sur les coiffes et les bords. Intérieur frais et sans rousseurs. Pages non rognées.
