The reference number itself tells a precise story: 14393 identifies the specific case, dial, and movement configuration, the suffix SC confirms the case is crafted from Stainless Steel, and the critical digits 61 denote its year of production, firmly placing it in the early years of the second-generation Constellation series.

At its heart beats the legendary Omega Calibre 561 manual-winding movement. This 24-jewel movement is a star in the brand's history, having officially earned the prestigious Chronometer certification for its exceptional accuracy. The Calibre 561 is essentially the date-equipped sibling of the renowned Calibre 551, featuring the same high-level finishing with Geneva stripes, rhodium-plating, and a robust architecture designed for reliable timekeeping. The date function is adjusted via the crown.

The aesthetics of this watch are where its true character shines. The case features the iconic "C-Case" or "Clamshell" design, named for its distinct curved profile that seamlessly integrates with downward-sloping, sharply beveled lugs. This construction ensures the watch wears exceptionally comfortably and hugs the wrist. It is topped with the classic Constellation "dog-leg" or "pie-pan" bezel. The case back is sealed and features the deeply engraved Observatory medallion, depicting a starry night over an astronomical observatory—a symbol of its certified precision.

The dial is a particular highlight and a highly collectible feature. It is a stunning black lacquer dial adorned with luxurious gilt printing. The gilt (gold) printing technique involved applying a layer of gold to the brass dial base before covering it in black lacquer. The indices and text were then meticulously printed, revealing the brilliant gold beneath the black surface. This creates a dramatic and luxurious contrast. This gilt dial is of the "pie-pan" variety, meaning its center is slightly recessed, creating a play of light that enhances legibility. It features applied gold hour markers and elegant Alpha or Dauphine-style hands. The presence of a date window at 3 o'clock adds a practical touch to its classic design.
