Biografie
Mel Ramos (1935–2018) gilt als einer der bedeutendsten amerikanischen Pop-Art-Künstler. Bekannt wurde er durch seine humorvollen und provokanten Darstellungen von Pin-up-Girls, die er oft mit Markenprodukten wie Schokolade, Zigaretten oder Getränken kombinierte. Ramos studierte Kunst an der Sacramento State College in Kalifornien und war eng mit den Größen der Pop Art wie Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein und Tom Wesselmann verbunden. Seine Werke verbinden Konsumkritik mit erotischer Bildsprache und sind heute in bedeutenden Museen sowie internationalen Privatsammlungen vertreten. Auf dem Kunstmarkt erzielen Ramos’ Gemälde und Grafiken hohe Aufmerksamkeit, insbesondere seine limitierten Siebdrucke und Lithografien, die ein breites Sammlerpublikum ansprechen.

Die Grafik wurde stets flach gelagert und wird nur für den Transport kurzzeitig gerollt.
