Chinese pale grey-white nephrite jade “open work” pendant sculpture Hotei Buddha – China – end of 20th Century

On offer is a superb thick and large lotus shaped grey-white nephrite jade “open work” pendant, including cord for hanging. It has a very detailed engraved image of Chinese Hotei Buddha figure, who is actually an enlightened Chinese Buddhist monk. Sometimes referred to as laughing or happy Buddha. Excellent grey-white colored piece of jade with an excellent quality carving (please see pictures) on both sides. This high quality jade pendant has been created by a skilled professional. Hard to find ! Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Provenance: This jade comes from inland China. An interesting jade, very suitable as an addition to your high-end collection or to present as a gift! Please see test results and pictures.
