How to Play (Game Overview)

"Hyakunin Isshu" is a traditional Japanese card game played with two decks.

The cards are divided into a "Yomifuda" (reading cards) and a "Torifuda" (grabbing cards).

The reader recites the first part (the 5-7-5 syllable part) of a Hyakunin Isshu poem.

Players quickly find and grab the corresponding card with the last part (the 7-7 syllable part) of the poem, which are spread out on the floor.
