Caterina Maffeis

Jan Bévort (1917-1996) was a Dutch painter known for his naturalistic landscapes, often painted with a palette knife.
He is particularly recognized for his depictions of Dutch landscapes and seascapes, including scenes with traditional boats like the "Plattbodens".
Bévort established himself in Schoorl, North Holland, around 1960 and is often referred to as the "Schoorlse Schilder" (Schoorl Painter).
The painting shows boats on a beach or near the shore, characteristic of Bévort's style and subject matter.
