These are Japanese hand-pulled woodblock bookplates produced between the 1950s and 1960s.
All of these bookplates belonged to Eiichi Hirose’s collection.

Eiichi Hirose was a prominent Japanese collector and businessman. As the sixth-generation owner of a sake brewery, he managed the family business while nurturing a deep passion for art and culture. His bookplates involved many renowned artists and printmakers, including Yonjiro Sato, Takao Sakuma, and Genichiro Inokuma, and they transcend the traditional boundaries of bookplates to possess exceptional artistic value as woodblock prints. For collectors, these pieces are truly rare treasures, bringing together historical significance and masterful craftsmanship, and are highly sought after in both domestic and international art markets.
