The Pioneer Prologue S-55 is a vintage bookshelf speaker from Pioneer’s early 1990s “Prologue” line. Designed for audiophiles and those who appreciate detailed and balanced sound in a classic design, it offers strong performance for its size. These speakers are ideal as near-field monitors, in smaller stereo setups, or as part of a larger speaker system.
With its dual-cone mid/bass drivers and a ceramic carbon dome tweeter, the Prologue S-55 delivers warm mids, well-controlled bass (for its size), and crisp highs. The build is solid, typical of Pioneer’s craftsmanship of that era, with an emphasis on acoustic clarity rather than merely loud output. They are suited for listeners who care about musical accuracy, instrument separation, and a speaker that blends well with vintage or modern amplification alike.

To deliver this product properly, it is carefully packed in very strong boxes, thereby wrapped in bubble wrap with lots of padding.
