Bruine, geglazuurde, lensvormige Kmer pot met op de schouder rondom aangebrachte inkervingen. Ook onder aan de buik een rand in het glazuur. Deze antieke pot stamt uit de periode rond 1200. 
Het volk van Cambodja wordt Kmer genoemd, daar is dit type aardewerk naar vernoemd. Het Khmervolk is door de geschiedenis heen een volk met veel liefde voor kunst en dat is nog altijd zichtbaar. Tussen de negende en de dertiende eeuw was Angkor, het rijk van de Khmer, het machtigste en welvarendste rijk in Zuidoost-Azië, met ongeëvenaarde techniek en architectuur. In deze periode is de pot gemaakt.

De staat is wonderwel; op leeftijd gerelateerde sporen na is er geen schade.

Provenance: de pot is afkomstig uit een privéverzameling van een Nederlandse verzamelaar. De gegevens zijn bekend bij de Nederlandse veiling waar deze pot is gekocht. Het veilinghuis is bekend met de voorwaarden voor verkoop van deze artefacten. Zie laatste foto. Het formulier wordt ondertekend bij de aankoop meegeleverd.
