A large and well cast bronze Daoist figure of the immortal Wenchang Wang, God of learning and literature, standing upright on a pedestal for a height of circa 29,5cm and weight of 1819g, face cast with well pronounced features and large earlobes, head adorned with a crown, holding a "hu" in his hands in front of his chest, wearing a hemmed robe with wide sleeves. Traces of gilding. Condition: Some damage to the back of the base, tablet in his hands chipped, no further significant damages or repairs detected. Minor wear commensurate with age.
