Founded in 1955, the Karuizawa Distillery was located in the Japanese city of Miyota, at the foot of Mount Asama, an active volcanic area at an altitude of approximately 850 meters. The distillery closed its doors in 2000, and a year later, its bottles are highly sought-after at auction, often reaching six-figure prices. Karuizawa Cask Strength 1st Release was matured entirely in a single sherry butt. Karuizawa Cask Strength 2nd Release was matured entirely in a single sherry butt. Karuizawa Cask Strength 3rd Release was matured entirely in a single sherry butt. Karuizawa Cask Strength 4th Release was matured entirely in a single sherry cask.
