Puligny Montrachet and Chassagne Montrachet are located in the middle of the four villages that make up the part of the Côte de Beaune region known as the Côte des Blancs (Meursault, Blagny, Chassagne and Puligny). This area was given this name because of the quality and royalty of its white wines. Bâtard-Montrachet is located at the point where the villages of Puligny Montrachet and Chassagne Montrachet meet. It borders directly below that of Montrachet. It is exposed to the sun from the east and lies on a terroir consisting of chalky soil. It is also the largest of the five Grands Crus. The 2023 Alvina Pernot Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is an exceptional white Burgundy from one of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. This wine reflects the dedication of Alvina Pernot, granddaughter of Paul Pernot, who combines a modern vision with the classic traditions of the family business. The Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet vineyard is very famous and is located in Puligny-Montrachet, bordering the famous Bâtard-Montrachet vineyard. It has a chalky soil with a perfect balance of minerals, which contributes to the refinement and minerality of the wine. The location on the eastern slopes ensures optimal sun exposure and ripening of the grapes. The vineyard has very low yields, resulting in concentrated and expressive wines. The wine is made in a traditional way with a focus on precision and finesse. It is aged in French oak barrels (some new), which adds complexity and structure without overshadowing the terroir.
