Bateke Two-Headed Mpwau Fetish Pool Malebo region, Congo-Brazzaville.

Rare and authentic Bateke Mpwau fetish depicting a two-headed masculine figure. 
 
Very lovely janiform fetish with ritual load wrapped in fabric, wonderful brown-red patina. 

The style and hairdo are identical to that of the statuettes of the Georg Baselitz Collection of Berlin (Batéké « les fétiches ») and of R. Lehuard (Les arts Batéké), (have a look at the pictures).
