Alex Mylona (1920-2016) - Adam & Eva + two others

Alex Mylona was a Greek sculptor and painter. In this case the artist decides to recreate her earlier sculpture, Adam & Eva, but this time painted on canvas with a slight difference in the details. To get a better impression there is an image of the sculpture attached in the photos. In 2002, she established the Alex Mylonas Museum in Athens. The museum has a permanent collection of Mylonas work on display and hosts temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The "Adam and Eve" motif is a favorite theme of the artist. In the 1960s, she established a studio in the Denfert-Rochereau area in Paris, where she had the opportunity to expand her artistic horizons. Her work was strongly supported by Nikos Hatzikyriakos-Ghikas and Iris Clert and she became acquainted with Christian Zervos, Henry Moore, Alberto Giacometti, Ossip Zadkine and Jean Arp. Her works is located in National gallery Aleksandros Soutsos in Athens. Here Mylona presents in very nice original wood frame geometric figures of Adam and Eve, acrylic on canvas, signed "Alex" lower right and dated 1966. The work is accompanied by two earlier ink drawings of the artist's favorite theme, signed and dated, 1951 and 1952. Cracks are observed on the black base of the painting but not on the image. The two drawings in very good condition. Note: the paintings will be sent from Bulgaria where I am temporarily located
