The 1787 publication "The Works of Samuel Johnson" is an eleven-volume collection of Samuel Johnson's writings, edited by his literary executor, Sir John Hawkins. This comprehensive set includes a biography of Johnson by Hawkins in the first volume. Along with his essays, poetry, and other writings, offering a significant compilation of Johnson's literary output and his friend's biographical account. Complete set of eleven volumes, bound in leather. Some slight damage to the spine (see photograph). Volume V has a loose cover, Vol; VIII contains some loose (blank) pages before the printed ones..
