Seth Thomas “Speed Read” modello 860, prodotto nel 1974, autentico esempio di design Space Age e tecnologia vintage anni ’70, made in Japan per la Statunitense Seth Thomas.
Orologio da tavolo flip clock con movimento giapponese a transistor, alimentato da batteria tipo D.
È particolarmente interessante anche una parte del meccanismo elettromagnetico: il piccolo martelletto, visibile in primo piano in una delle foto, quando scende chiude il circuito, attivando così il motorino che comanda l’avanzamento della vite senza fine/elicoidale.
Un dettaglio tecnico ingegnoso che evidenzia la precisione e la qualità progettuale Giapponese negli anni Settanta.
Design classico con corpo in plastica effetto legno (woodgrain) e vetro frontale reale.
