Antique Silver-Gilt Jewel Casket with Portrait Medallion – Late 19th Century

A beautiful antique jewel casket in silver-gilt (gilded silver), richly decorated with ornate scrolls, floral details and repoussé work. The hinged lid features a central medallion with a portrait, adding a highly personal and historical touch. The interior is lined with dark blue velvet, well preserved.

The piece rests on finely detailed feet, displaying superb craftsmanship typical of late 19th to early 20th century European decorative silver.
