Leggio in legno massiccio del XVIII sec. di manifattura artigianale siciliana.
Provenienza da un convento di Catania (secondo diceria - non documentata -  dal convento di San Nicola , di cui parla il romanzo "I Viceré" di De Roberto), in tale città è stato acquistato nel secolo scorso dalla mia famiglia.
Perfettamente restaurato, è ancora funzionante il meccanismo di regolazione dell'altezza del piano lettura (realizzato con sistema a incastro di legno).
No danni. No alterazioni.
Probabilmente destinato a uso come supporto di spartiti musicali , la regolazione di altezza ne consentiva l'uso sia a un musicista seduto, sia in piedi. L'oggetto è comunque solido e idoneo a sostenere volumi pesanti (vedi foto).
Il volume nella foto non è in vendita .
Oggi , può trovare collocazione nella sala di ville e casali di campagna o nello studio di un professionista , a cui conferisce nobiltà e un pizzico di esotismo e mistero.
Preferibile ritiro sul posto in una villa a nord di Roma. La spedizione è onerosa e rischiosa a causa della forma dell'oggetto.
