Superb ornate Victorian hip flask form with a screw cap, with very detailed foliate scrolling front to back and a blank cartouche. Perfect if you want to have it personalised yourself. The flask has a screw cap which opens and closes smoothly and does not leak. The flask is in excellent condition with no splits, dents or damage of any kind. There is the usual minor surface scratching which is much better than expected for an item of this age. The flask has hallmarks for Hilliard & Thomason Silversmiths of Spencer Street, Birmingham in 1870. The measurements are approximately 12cm (4 3/4") long x 7.3cm (2 3/4") wide x 2.5cm (1") deep and weighs 96g (3.4 oz).
