Erhard & Söhne — Heavy Brass Box — Gold & Silver Toned with cherubs — Late 19th Century

Exceptional and richly detailed box by Erhard & Söhne, Germany. Made of heavy gold and silver coloured brass with embossed cherub and floral decorations on all sides. The box locks with a decorative clasp (no key included) and is lined with deep red velvet inside.

A finely crafted and very solid piece weighing approx. 1–1.5 kg, suitable as a jewellery box, desk box or collector’s item.

About Erhard & Söhne:
Founded in 1844 in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, Erhard & Söhne became one of Europe’s most renowned metalware manufacturers. They were pioneers in fine brass craftsmanship and known for producing luxurious decorative and functional objects in the Biedermeier, Jugendstil (Art Nouveau), and early Art Deco styles. Their intricate repoussé and gilding techniques made them suppliers to royal courts and prestigious households across Europe.
