Large Spanish silver fighting roosters / cockerel ornaments! A very handsome Sterling Silver large pair of cast fighting cock cockerels or roosters. This modern Spanish silver-gilt models, are showing two male birds in realistic fighting poses, finely detailed with hand-chased bodies and tail feathers. Made in Spain Made by Fully Spanish hallmarked for .915 silver. The 5-pointed star is the Spanish symbol for .915 purity silver. It is accompanied by a maker’s mark and I assume some sort of trade mark. The dimensions of the larger rooster is: Length 13.5 cm Wide at base 18.5 x 8.0 cm Approx. 177 grams of .915 silver The dimensions of the other rooster is: Length 12 cm Wide at base 16 x 6.0 cm Approx. 152 grams of .915 silver Totall weights of 915 silver is: 329 grams / 10.6 troy ounce. (They are unweighted) Condition: Good condition. Assumebly they have been gilded and lacquered completely in the past.
