Imperial-style Cased Cut-to-Clear Blue Crystal Egg – Double-Headed Eagle and St. George Motif Egg - Second half of the 20th century - 7.5 cm - 6 cm - 6 cm - (1)

A decorative item in the shape of an egg made of rich cobalt blue glass with deep engraved ornamentation. One side depicts a double-headed eagle with a coat of arms, while the other shows Saint George slaying a dragon, surrounded by a wreath of laurel and oak leaves. The delicate hand carving on multi-layered glass (cut-to-clear) creates an exquisite effect of transparency and contrast between matte and glossy areas. The photographs perfectly convey the play of light and depth of colour, from dark sapphire to bright ultramarine. Similar items were created in Czech and Russian glass factories in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, inspired by the style of Imperial Fabergé eggs and the tradition of Bohemia Crystal. Material: multilayered cobalt glass, hand engraved and polished Technique: cased glass, cut-to-clear, intaglio engraving Colour: deep cobalt Dimensions: height approx. 7,5 cm Exceptionally detailed hand engraving. Symbols of the Russian Empire — the double-headed eagle and Saint George. Important information: Please be informed that shipping to the USA is temporarily suspended due to postal restrictions.
