Early 20th-Century Carved Oak Gateleg Table – France, c.1920s

Finely crafted folding gateleg table made of solid oak, featuring deep hand-carved borders with foliate and geometric motifs along the oval top. The table rests on eight turned legs connected by stretchers, ensuring excellent structural balance.
Made in France around the 1920s, this piece exemplifies traditional craftsmanship of the early 20th century, where utility and ornament were harmoniously combined.

The surface shows a well-aged patina with slight wear consistent with age and use, enhancing its authenticity. The hinges and supports remain stable; one joint shows a discreet period repair that does not affect functionality. When both leaves are folded, width reduces to 31 cm, allowing for compact storage.
