The world of wines brought to you by {name}

Mattia Garon

Ornellaia – the legendary winery's sonorous name precedes its reputation. The collection unmistakably expresses its rich terroir with rich nuances. The winemaking process is based on strict quality management, uncompromisingly implemented by star winemaker Axel Heinz.

Tenuta dell'Ornellaia Masseto IGT 2017 is undoubtedly an exemplary product of its vintage, successfully embracing the full ripeness and concentration of a particularly sunny and dry vintage.
The color is almost black, and the nose reveals a rich and ripe expression of concentrated black fruit with hints of spice and licorice. On the palate, the wine successfully combines the great intensity and ripeness of the fruit with a remarkable impression of balance and freshness. The tannins are dense, the texture velvety smooth, and the finish offers a lingering fruitiness and lively acidity that conveys a touch of freshness. Although it comes from one of the warmest vintages to date, the 2017, with its distinctive combination of richness and elegance, can certainly be described as a very typical Masseto.

Enjoy this wine at 16 to 18 degrees Celsius, opened 1-2 hours before, or decanted if desired. It pairs well with roasted or braised dishes with fine dark meat, braised beef, venison ragout, roasted game birds, creamy risotto with porcini mushrooms, or mature Pecorino cheese. Optimal drinking age is now until 2034.
