Provenant de la région de Zanaga en République du Congo.  
Les Bateke ont sculpté des masques circulaire très célèbres, plats et décorés de motifs symboliques. Cette société est une institution politique et religieuse créée ilau XIXème siècle à l'occasion de la scission des Tsaye de l'ethnie mère Teke. L'association Kidumu patronne les grands événements de la vie sociale qu'on retrouve aussi au sein d'autres rituels ethniques : circoncision, mariage ou décès de chefs, alliances et jugements.
