Statua in bronzo rappresentante San Michele Arcangelo nell’atto di uccidere il diavolo.
San Michele arcangelo
è fin dal 1949 il patrono della Polizia di Stato.
Lo incontriamo per ben cinque volte nella Bibbia, conosciamo la sua immagine letteraria nella
Divina Commedia: è il messo celeste che scende dal Paradiso per aprire
al poeta e al suo maestro le porte della città di Dite mentre “pien di disdegno” coglie l’occasione per ribadire la sconfitta definitiva degli spiriti del male e la loro impotenza nei confronti del volere divino [Inferno, canto IX, 64-105].
Si tratta di una statua in bronzo prodotta con la tecnica della cera persa.
Essa é stata realizzata da un calco dell'originale fatto alla fine XX secolo da una storica fonderia di Napoli.
