Très belle hache figurative "nsésu" Pende

Les haches de ce type étaient les insignes de fonction d'hommes tels que les sculpteurs professionnels, les chefs et les prêtres. Portées en bandoulière et tenues d'une seule main, elles servaient à souligner le statut particulier de leur propriétaire (Elsen,  De Fer et De fierté , 2003 ; Roberts, Joyce et Berns (dir.),  Striking Iron: The Art of African Blacksmiths , 2019 ; Westerdijk,  African Metal Implements , 1984).

Superbe hache orné d'un masque et de deux petites cornes à l'arrière du manche. Lame "tigrée"  caractéristique du Congo. Excellente provenance.
État : le manche est fendu à plusieurs endroits. Notamment légèrement à l'endroit où entre la lame. (soie) Mais elle ne bouge pas du tout.
