Konica S II with Hexanon 1,9/48mm | Analogue camera

Perfect gift for a loved one! This is one of the cameras in my personal collection. A very rare model to see outside Japan! Take a look at what it can do: https://www.lomography.com/cameras/3342010-konica-s-ii/photos Body: Konica SII Released in 1961, the Konica SII is a beautiful example of early-’60s precision engineering — a solid rangefinder that perfectly balances elegance and functionality. It was part of Konica’s legendary fixed-lens rangefinder lineup, known for their quiet shutters, robust builds, and razor-sharp optics. The Konica SII features a leaf shutter with speeds from 1 second to 1/500 second plus Bulb, paired with a built-in selenium light meter — no batteries required. The camera’s meter window sits proudly above the lens, a hallmark of its era’s design. The shutter mechanism operates smoothly, and the winding action is crisp and confident. The body construction is sturdy, with a metal top plate and textured grip covering, designed to withstand decades of use. Despite its compact size, it feels solid and perfectly balanced in hand. This was built at a time when Konica was pushing toward optical excellence, competing head-to-head with Canon and Minolta, and the SII proved that they could create cameras just as precise and dependable.. Lens: Hexanon 48mm f/1.9 One of the best mid-century optical designs. Focal Length: 48mm Maximum Aperture: f/1.9 Optical Formula: 6 elements in 4 groups Minimum Focus Distance: 1 meter Shutter Type: Konirapid leaf shutter (1s–1/500s + Bulb) The Hexanon f/1.9 lens is one of the sharpest standard lenses of its generation, praised for its contrast, tonal richness, and beautiful rendering. The color reproduction is warm yet natural — a classic Konica signature. Wide open, it produces a dreamy softness ideal for portraits, while stopped down it becomes extremely sharp and detailed. The lens glass is clear, with no haze or fungus, providing crisp, balanced optics. The focusing is smooth, and the aperture blades are snappy. The body operates correctly through all shutter speeds. I took the pictures in natural light so you can notice a few dust particles within the viewfinder — normal for its age. These haven’t impacted shooting performance. I feel it's time to find her a new home with someone that can take care of her and put her to good use. The shipping will be done by courier, with the best protective packaging, insurance and a tracking code, as I would do for myself. Thank you for your time and happy treasure hunting!
