 2 antieke carbidlampen, ook wel bekend als een acetyleenlamp. 

1. POWELL & HANMER REVENGE BICYCLE CYCLE LAMP P&H motorfiets.

De 2de lamp is een  fiets/motorfiets carbidlamp VITHPHARE uit messing - ca. 1900, vermoedelijk Frans-Belgische herkomst. 

Dit type lamp werd vroeger gebruikt voor verlichting, met name door mijnwerkers, fietsers, motoren en speleologen. 
De lamp werkt door water uit een bovenste compartiment te laten druppelen op calciumcarbide in het onderste compartiment. 
Deze chemische reactie produceert acetyleengas, dat vervolgens wordt ontstoken om een heldere witte vlam te creëren. 
De hoeveelheid water die op het carbide druppelt, kan worden geregeld om de grootte van de vlam aan te passen. 
Het gebruik van carbidlampen nam af na de ontwikkeling van modernere en veiligere verlichtingsmethoden, zoals elektrische lampen.
