This is an original Japanese educational atlas titled "Newly Compiled Map of Japan" (新制日本本地図), written by Naomasa Yamazaki (山崎直方) and published in 1926 (Taisho 15) by Tokyo Kaiseikan.
This atlas is a rare historical document, officially approved by the Ministry of Education of the Empire of Japan, and used in middle and high school geography classes. It includes colorful, detailed maps of the Japanese Empire at the time, including territories that are no longer part of Japan today, such as Taiwan, Karafuto (Sakhalin), and the Korean Peninsula.
