The work is finely cast in dark brown patinated bronze, signed on the shoulder “V. GEMITO”, and bears the stamp of the prestigious Fonderia G. Chiurazzi, Napoli. Chiurazzi was one of the most important foundries in Naples, known for casting both ancient replicas and works by Gemito himself. The bust depicts a young girl from Capri, with realistic facial features and a headscarf, typical of Gemito’s style and his attention to expressive naturalism.
