An original pair of Chinese guardian lions (also known as "Shishi" or "Fu Dogs"), carved from limestone. Strongly stylised with powerful posture and detailed manes, typical of Ming craftsmanship.

Dimensions: Height 16 cm, Width 7 cm, Depth 10 cm
Weight: approx. 3 kg (together)
Condition: Very good, with age-related wear and surface weathering.
Provenance: From the private collection of Thomas Foth, Freiburg. A copy of the original invoice will be provided to the buyer.
Symbolism: In Chinese tradition, guardian lions symbolised protection and power. Such pairs were usually placed in front of tombs, temples, or entrances to ward off evil spirits and secure prosperity.
