early 20th century embroidered icon of Christ the Redeemer (Salvator Mundi) – mixed media on fabric – framed

Description:
Finely executed devotional textile icon depicting Christ the Redeemer (Salvator Mundi).
The face and hands are delicately painted on silk or fine fabric, while the robe and halo are richly embroidered with metallic and silk threads in gold and green tones.
The artwork is mounted on its original textile base and has been newly presented in a wooden frame with black background.

Probably Austria or Central Europe (Austro-Hungarian region), late 19th to early 20th century.
A beautiful example of devotional mixed-media craftsmanship combining painting and embroidery.

Condition: overall good with visible age-related wear, small thread losses at the lower edge, and some surface toning consistent with age.

Dimensions: artwork approx. 24 × 29 cm; with frame 43 × 46 cm.

Materials: mixed media on fabric with metallic thread embroidery.

Framing: newly framed with a black background; protective layer present (frame included as a gift).
