A attractive copy of this first edition work of political caricature. 32 full page illustrated plates (including the title) 8 of them in colour. There is a further colour plate tipped onto the front board. The boards are clean, with a little darkening / foxing to the plate. Some rubbing with surface loss to the rear panel. Internally mostly clean and tidy. The title page has some darkening / dirt, and there are a few light foxing spots, but overall in very good condition. The end papers and paste downs are possibly renewed, so some restoration may have occurred. If so, this was some time ago, as a small old gilt bookseller's label is on the end paper. 32pp. 26 x 39 cm A parody of someone who wants to be more than he is - and taking France as wanting to be more English that England. Mac-Aron indulges in horse racing, boxing, polo, horseback riding and finally hunting with amusing results.
