The Ardbeg Galileo 1999–2012 is a limited-edition special bottling from the Islay distillery Ardbeg, released in 2012 and made from whiskies distilled in 1999. It was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and rare Marsala wine casks from Sicily. This bottling celebrates Ardbeg's involvement in a scientific experiment in space—even though the whisky itself never went there.

Nose: Intense smoke with notes of ash and phenol, fruity impressions of red grapes, blackberries, and cherries, milk chocolate, roasted almonds, and delicate vanilla.

Palate: Full-bodied and complex with sweet grape notes, smoke, pepper, and spicy oak, with hints of crème brûlée and light tobacco.

Finish: Long lasting, smoky-sweet with oak spice and a hint of licorice
