Inside good condition with scattered foxing and stains but mostly clean, text readable, illustrated by four colour plates and many b/w plates from Walter Crane, Edward Burne Jones and others. All plates present. Externally overall good, light wear around edges and corners, shelfwear bright gilt. Ancient water sign on fore edges more visible inside on front endpaper and first blank two pages on lower margin-see last photos. Inside light faint ancient water sign on a margin on lower part first part of the book, light faint ancient water sign on a margin on upper part second part of the book. Overall good. Scarce in this beautiful binding!!!
