Dive into the whimsical world of Edo-period humor with "Kin no Waraji" (Golden Straw Sandals), Volume 18—a lively travelogue by Jippensha Ikku that follows comedic misadventures along Japan's historic paths, much like his famed "Shank's Mare." 
This gesaku masterpiece embodies the ukiyo (floating world) spirit of 19th-century Japanese culture, blending satire, folklore, and ukiyo-e illustrations to capture the era's vibrant everyday life, hot springs lore, and wanderlust.

Specifications: Believed to be an original edition from around 1828 (Bunsei 11), based on my research (amateur); 1 volume, medium-size Japanese-bound book (wahon, chūbon format), written by Jippensha Ikku, illustrated by Kitao Yoshimasa. Approximately 30 pages pressed on both sides, making 60 prints.  

Condition shows age-appropriate wear including tears (one major as shown in photo), creases, stains, and general damage; approximately 197 years old, to the best of my estimation. 

Ideal for collectors of classical Japanese literature and ukiyo-e art.
