Busto “La République – Concordia”  – 1872

Elegante busto in biscuit di porcellana bianca raffigurante La République Française, datato 1872 e decorato con il motto “CONCORDIA” inciso sul diadema.
Il soggetto rappresenta la figura allegorica di Marianne, simbolo della Repubblica e dei valori di libertà, uguaglianza e fratellanza, molto diffuso in Francia nel periodo post-comunardo.

Alla base è chiaramente visibile l’iscrizione “RÉPUBLIQUE 1872” e un marchio in rilievo (non completamente leggibile) del probabile produttore francese, riconducibile a una manifattura di Parigi o Limoges attiva nella seconda metà dell’Ottocento.

Il busto è ricco di dettagli: acconciatura elaborata con coroncina d’alloro, collana di perle e drappeggio realistico.
Nel complesso, un raffinato esempio di arte decorativa patriottica del XIX secolo, ispirato alla tradizione neoclassica francese.
