Description from the seller

Triptych 1964 by Roy Lichtenstein
Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam
As I Opened Fire
Delivered with wooden frame

Each poster is in perfect condition and measures 64 cm by 53 cm. The work is in excellent condition.

This triptych is inspired by the comic strip 'All American Men of War.' The narration is enhanced by carefully added text. This work references a revolution in art during the 1960s. Formally, Lichtenstein appropriated images from popular culture. He placed them within a visual art context by enlarging them, slightly modifying them, and painting them on a canvas. Thus, the artist blurred the line between high art and popular art.
This work, a typical example of Pop Art, can be understood as a reaction against abstract expressionism. Lichtenstein responds by erasing the artist's signature in his painting.
Similar artists: Andy Warhol, Basquiat, Claes Oldenburg, Jim Dine, James Rizzi, Jasper Johns, Peter Blake, David Hockney, Robert Rauschenberg, Robert Indiana, Tom Wesselmann, Frank Stella, Sam Francis, James Rosenquist, Cy Twombly.
The three posters are professionally framed and are just ready to be hung.
The photos shown are part of the description.

This artwork is carefully and securely packaged, then shipped wrapped in acid-free paper.

The lot is for sale by a private individual.
Consequently, you do not have the right of withdrawal.
