First German edition of this important early work of Frans Masereel. With 25 beautiful wood engravings. Limited edition of 750 copies, this being number 321 on rag paper. Rubbing, bumping, and wear to the boards and spine. The spine is a bit damaged, and some pieces of the leather are chipped off (see photos). Some browning in the front flyleaves due to an earlier inserted object. The text is clear, the illustrations are vibrant, and in excellent condition, and the binding is tight. Overall, a nice copy in good+ condition.
