Tirage limité à 1021 exemplaires, le notre un des 961 sur papier vélin de Rives numérotés de 61 à 1021 portant le N° 605. 

Broché, couverture rempliée et illustrée. 

Très bel exemplaire, en bonne condition. Quelques traces de manipulation sur la couverture, intérieur impeccable et couleurs des illustrations éclatantes. 

Premier roman de Pierre Loti, publié anonymement en 1879. Le livre a pour thème une histoire d'amour dans le cadre exotique de la Turquie de 1876-1877 entre un officier de marine européen et une jeune femme du harem d'un riche vieillard, d'abord à Salonique puis à Istanbul.
