Description

In Transparency, Michel Pinel explores the delicate interplay between fabric, light, and the human form. The model, standing beside a heavy curtain, is wrapped in a sheer, patterned veil that both reveals and conceals. The photograph’s title aptly reflects this tension between visibility and mystery — a recurring theme in Pinel’s portraiture.

The composition is refined and balanced: the vertical folds of the curtain contrast with the organic motifs of the veil, while soft, directional lighting enhances the texture of the skin and fabric. This 2007 print, numbered 1/15, was produced by the artist himself in his studio, as part of a limited edition of fifteen.

Condition

Excellent condition. Original vintage print, perfectly preserved, with deep blacks, luminous midtones, and no visible imperfections.

Description

Dans Transparence, Michel Pinel explore le jeu subtil entre le tissu, la lumière et le corps. Le modèle, debout près d’un rideau, est enveloppé d’un voile orné de motifs noirs, à la fois révélateur et dissimulant. Le titre de l’œuvre traduit parfaitement cette dualité entre dévoilement et mystère, thème récurrent dans l’œuvre du photographe.

La composition, d’une grande élégance, oppose les lignes droites du rideau aux arabesques du tissu, tandis qu’une lumière douce révèle la texture du voile et la délicatesse du visage. Tiré en 2007, cet exemplaire numéroté 1/15 fait partie d’une édition limitée à quinze tirages, réalisés par l’artiste dans son atelier.

État de conservation

Excellent état. Tirage d’époque parfaitement conservé, présentant une belle densité des noirs et une gamme de gris nuancée, sans altération visible.
