Scultura in polvere di marmo raffigurante la testa di Eros.
L’opera di origine ellenistica è stata scoperta nel 1772 a Centocelle (Roma) da cui prende il nome, infatti è detta anche l’Eros di Centocelle.
Fu acquistata da Papa Clemente XIV e di conseguenza esposta nella Sala dei Busti e delle Statue dei Musei Vaticani dove è conservata ancora oggi. 
Nel 1800 per un breve periodo l’Eros di Centocelle è stato anche esposto al Louvre dopo l’acquisizione di Napoleone Bonaparte dal Papa Pio VI nell'ambito del Trattato di Tolentino.
Scultura accademica professionale, realizzata completamente a mano da artigiani professionisti. Un pezzo da gipsoteca Museale. La lavorazione ha origini molto antiche, e viene eseguita completamente a mano da artisti del settore scultoreo, realizzata con materiali come scagliola e polvere di marmo carrara.
