Three copies of this fine large quarto annual Christmas issue of The Bookman, devoted to books of the day in all subjects. These annuals are noted for their huge range of illustrations, in many techniques. Full page tipped-in colour plates by artists such as William Blake, E.H. Sheperd, Norman Hepple and others; full page portraits of figures such as William Rothenstein, G.B. Stern, Epstein, Beverley Nichols etc; and work from a huge array of artists such as Gordon Browne, Arthur Rackham, John Hassall, Pearl Binder, Lionel Edwards, John Austen, H.M. Browne, Aubrey Beardsley, Augusts John, Frank Brangwyn etc. Amongst a vast array pf period publishers advertisements, there are also several samples of differnt publisher's quality paper. 1932. Pages xiv, 380, just slightly used internally, corners slightly bruised, small repairs to the fore-edge margons of the first two pages, papewr covers a little worn, the front cover lightly damaged but neatly repaired with archival tape, lacking a small piece of the spine. 1933. Pages xii, 374, very slightly used internally, the covers just slightly worn, the spine a little frayed at top and bottom, 1934. Pages xii, [242], a little used internally with bumped corners, covers a bit worn, the spine lacking some pieces, fraying at the joints. Plus an extra !! The Studio Christmas Annual for 1939. Very well illustrated, small quarto, ages viii, 64, very clean internally, paperback, the covers a little worn, the spine chipped and frayed.
