Prachtig olieverfschilderijtje van Berend Jan  ( Barend ) Brouwer

Herfstbos met personen. Prachtige kleuren.

Barend Jan Brouwer word op 19 juli 1872 geboren te Diepenveen. Hij komt al op jonge leeftijd in contact met zijn leermeester Theophile de Bock, een Nederlands kunstschilder behorend bij de Haagse School. Brouwer schildert, net al veel tijdgenoten, in de impressionistische stijl. De afbeeldingen zijn veelal Hollandse landschappen, akkers , stads- en plasgezichten en bossen.
Brouwer bezoekt ook de Ook bezocht hij de Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerpen en de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in Den Haag. In 1923 vestigt hij zich definitief in Voorburg en werkt veel in de omgeving.

Bijzonder van dit schilderijtje is dat op achterkant vermeld staat jhr H. van Rijckevorsel.
