Paar bronzen boeksteunen met Duitse herders – groen patina op wit geaderd marmer – Frankrijk, ca. 1930

Beschrijving:
Elegant paar bronzen boeksteunen met voorstelling van twee Duitse herders in een alerte, natuurlijke houding. De beelden zijn uitgevoerd in groen gepatineerd brons, wat prachtig contrasteert met de witte, geaderde marmeren sokkels waarop ze rusten.

Deze combinatie van materialen – warm brons en koel marmer – is typerend voor het Art Deco-tijdperk, waarin kracht en verfijning elkaar harmonieus aanvullen. De sculpturen zijn fijn gedetailleerd, met oog voor de gespierde bouw en expressie van het dier.
