This refined set of three independent lacquer panels showcases traditional Japanese-style Chinoiserie scenes, richly decorated in gold and red on a black ground. Each panel is finely painted with narrative compositions featuring courtly life, riverside festivities, and elegant architectural settings, rendered with meticulous attention to detail.

The panels measure 22 cm (8.7 in) in length, 12.8 cm (5 in) in width, and 0.4 cm (0.16 in) in depth each. Designed as standalone decorative artworks or to be grouped in a display, they embody the allure of late 19th-century European fascination with Asian art.

These lacquered wood panels exhibit remarkable craftsmanship, combining delicate gold linework and vivid figural scenes. The subject matter and technique reflect both the aesthetic appeal and cross-cultural influence of Japonisme, popular across Europe during this period.
